Grand Hotel Plovdiv will host the IX International Scientific and Practical Seminar “Training in Translation Mastery”. The conference will be held on 14.11.2019 at 11:00 in the conference hall “Moscow” of Grand Hotel Plovdiv.
The ninth edition of the International Translation and Practical Seminar on Translation for Russian Students “Translation Mastery” will be held from 13 to 17 November at the Grand Hotel Plovdiv. The Forum is a joint project of the Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” and the Russian Peace Fund and is implemented by the Center for Russian Language and Culture with the assistance of the Department of Russian Philology at the University of Plovdiv. This year the seminar is thematically dedicated to the Year of Theater in Russia and will be held under the title “Theater as Translation and Translation as Theater”, and participants in the unique Youth Translation Science and Education Forum will become over 50 representatives from thirteen universities in Bulgaria , Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Poland, Italy and Hungary, said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nadia Cherneva, Vice-Rector of Plovdiv University for International Cooperation, Academic Mobility, Public Relations and Protocol. The program of the forum includes lectures, master classes and workshops of eminent Russian and Bulgarian specialists in the field of translation and theatrical arts. Lecturers at the seminar are: Prof. Dr. Valery Efremov from the Russian State Pedagogical University “A.I. Herzen, St. Petersburg; Prof. Dr. Olga Vasilieva from the State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) and the State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow and director; Dr. Marianna Konova – Third Secretary and Government Translator to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Russia; Prof. Dr. Galina Chamonina – Secretary General of the Chernoizets Hrabar VFU; Head of the Department of Russian Philology, PA Paisii Hilendarski Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juliana Chakarova; Tanya Atanasova – Lecturer at the Department of Russian Philology at the University of Plovdiv and translator. The event’s media partner is the national ABC publisher, whose publications will feature materials from the seminar. To feel the guests of the international forum the spirit of Ancient and Eternal Plovdiv will be provided by the Municipal Institute of Ancient Plovdiv, and a comfortable stay for the participants will be provided by the Grand Hotel Plovdiv. The International Scientific and Practical Seminar on Translation for Russian Students has occupied a particularly important place in the academic calendar of the University of Plovdiv for the last nine years and is a trademark and emblem of the Center for Russian Language and Culture at the University.
